TEPOWER Showcases Working Prototype at BioPhoT Conference 2026 and Achieves TRL 5
TEPOWER has reached an important milestone in its technology development, successfully demonstrating a working flexible thermoelectric generator prototype at BioPhoT Conference 2026 in Riga, Latvia.
During the conference, the TEPOWER team presented its innovative technology, which converts body heat and small temperature differences into electricity, opening new opportunities for self-powered wearable electronics, health monitoring devices, and low-power IoT sensors.
The prototype demonstration highlighted the practical functionality of the technology. The team successfully generated electricity using a temperature difference and demonstrated its ability to power a small electronic clock.
This achievement marks an important step in TEPOWER's development, with the project team reporting that the technology has reached Technology Readiness Level 5 (TRL 5).
From Scientific Research to Practical Applications
TEPOWER combines advanced thermoelectric materials, carbon nanotube networks, and flexible polymers to develop thin, lightweight, and adaptable energy-harvesting modules.
The technology is being developed in collaboration with the University of Latvia, supported by scientific research, patented innovations, and experimental validation.
The next major milestone is TRL 6, focusing on developing an integrated industrial prototype and demonstrating its performance under relevant operating conditions.
One of the first planned applications is the integration of TEPOWER into a low-power health monitoring system, particularly a PPG sensor.
Participation in BioPhoT Conference 2026 provided an opportunity to demonstrate the project's progress, exchange knowledge with researchers and innovation experts, and explore future collaboration opportunities.
Our vision: A world where devices power themselves.
